Arizona Grand Resort & Spa: A Desert Oasis All Year Round

by Ceylan Kumbarji

One of Arizona’s most naturally beautifully places, Phoenix is known for its year-round sun and stunning desert backdrop, and the Arizona Grand Resort & Spa is a spot where you enjoy the best of the city. With outdoor fire pits, an incredible spa, six unique dining venues to choose from, a golf course with panoramic views and even a water park, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re a family opting for a fun sun-filled holiday, a couple wanting to relax and see a new city, or a group heading on a girls trip, the resort is full of indoor and outdoor choices, where you can tailor everyday to you.

The Property & The Rooms

On the doorstep of the South Mountain Reserve, which is the largest municipal park in the US, the Arizona Grand Resort & Spa feels like a true getaway – everything you need is moments away from you inside the resort, and it feels like a home away from home with facilities like a gym and a sports centre. This theme of homeliness is especially prominent in the rooms, as each of the 744 rooms in the property is a suite. You can choose from three types of suite; a Guest Suite, a Grand Suite or a Villa.

The Guest Suite is a two-room suite, ideal for a single traveller or a family, with either one king-size bed or two queen-size beds and a private balcony (or patio!) The Grand Suites are two and three-room suites, and these are bigger than the guest suites so these are great for any occasion with large working desks and incredible views. Finally, the Villas are the most luxurious of all three options, made with bigger groups and families in mind. For your own space, this has you covered. Whichever room you opt for, they’re all spacious and luxurious one, each with their own balcony/patio.

The Food

With six restaurant options, Arizona Grand Resort & Spa have cuisine to satisfy every palate. There’s the Lobby Grill for a casual, more contemporary atmosphere, where they serve comfort cuisine, making it a really popular place in Phoenix to relax and chill out. Then, there’s the Caribbean-themed Lobby Bar, which is a great place for locals and guests of the resort to gather and unwind. For on the go food options, the Marketplace Cafe, located in the lobby, is the spot to visit if you want your daily Starbucks, house-made breakfast options, lunch items that you can grab and delicious gelato. For Authentic Mexican food, Aunt Chilada’s has been around since 1986 – it features over 50 different tequilas, live music award-winning salsa (yes please!) and patio dining under the stars. If you’d prefer an authentic, hilltop steakhouse, Rustler’s Rooste has a fun, Old West vibe with incredible views of the Phoenix skyline. Finally, if you’d rather hang out in the sun and fancy a snack or something to eat, The Oasis Bar & Grill is right inside the water park for comfort food and drinks.

Outdoors

With sun all year round, there’s plenty to do in Phoenix outdoors. The Oasis Water Park at the Arizona Grand Resort & Spa is for everyone – kids, families, friends, couples, solo travellers and everyone in-between. Voted as one of the USA’s top 10 water parks, there’s 7 acres to enjoy including a lazy river, a wave pool and cabanas to take a break from the sun. One of the best things about it is that it’s just for hotel guests to enjoy so it feels private and intimate, even when it’s busy. In addition to the water park, there are also six resort pools located throughout the property, open everyday from 6am – 10pm. For experienced golfers, or newbies who want to try out something different, the golf course at the Arizona Grand Resort & Spa is the place to go. With panoramic views of the surrounding desert landscape and breathtaking mountain vistas, it’s an exciting spot to visit and enjoy the sunshine.

Added Perks

The hotel is only six miles from Phoenix’s Sky Harbor International Airport, so while you feel like you’re in your own little world, you’re also close to everything around Phoenix. With a full service spa and salon, cosy fire pits outside and an Athletic Club with everything from cardio machines to yoga rooms, you can spend a few days here or a few weeks, and you’ll continue to find things to enjoy.
