Indoor Date Night Ideas To Try This Winter

by Brittany Engler

With freezing temperatures taking over this season, it’s the ideal time to stay cuddled up indoors. Being cooped up may not sound like the most fun thing to do, but with a little creativity, you can turn your home into a bonafide date night hot spot. Here are a few ideas for you to kick things off this winter. Enjoy!

Cooking for Two: Head to the kitchen, grab your cookbook, and start creating a meal for two. Whether it’s cheddar and broccoli soup, steak and potatoes, or creamy macaroni and cheese, winter is the perfect time to make comfort food a priority. Nothing says date night like a big bowl of creamy mac and cheese with a glass of merlot.

Board Game Night: This is a classic go to. You can never go wrong with game night. Usually an activity that involves a group of people, you can still get enjoyment out of this with two people. Whether it’s charades, taboo, poker, etc. there are many different games you can play.

Wine and Cheese: I may be a bit partial to this activity, but wine and cheese is my favourite activity. Nothing is better than a big glass of merlot and a side of havarti, honey and crackers. It’s a perfect combination to help loosen things up a bit and make for a more relaxed evening.

Movie Night: You can’t go wrong with movie night, right!? A rom-com, a thriller, a murder mystery, or even a drama can make for great conversation. And it’s the perfect opportunity to be wrapped up in each others arms for a long evening.

Video Games: Now this may not be up your street, but video games can actually be surprisingly fun when played with the right person. My husband and I love playing Castle Crashers, the classic Mario and even Donkey Kong. It’s relaxing and a fun way to reconnect after a long week.

Nestle By The Fire With A Good Book: It doesn’t have to be the same book, but merely being in the same room, reading is romantic and adds a sense of togetherness that you don’t get with some other activities.

The possibilities are truly endless when it comes to creating ideas of fun things to do with your loved one. Take advantage of this cold weather while you heat things up yourselves this winter. These date night ideas are sure to spice things up, and hey, maybe even lead to some new winter traditions.
