Kimpton La Peer was created by the LA based, Icelandic born designer Gulla Jónsdóttir who brought the fashion world from outside its doorsteps, into the hotel to make it a space of sophisticated and stylistic harmony. Bringing in a mix of natural materials (from leather walls to white oak flooring), Gulla worked with artists, poets and photographers to bring her vision to life and personally select the works that would be displayed here. Everything about the hotel is elegant and intimate at the same time. The pool adds to this design of luxury, framed by a vertical garden which offers privacy and is poised for an afternoon of lavish tranquility in the California sun.
Responsible for all of the delicious food is Casey Lane, chef and owner of the Tasting Kitchen in Venice, California and Casa Apici in New York. Whether you’re craving a seafood-focused Italian or something from the bar by the pool, you won’t be disappointed.
Cocktail Hour
As is tradition with all of Kimpton’s hotels, La Peer offers guests a complimentary cocktail hour. Serving wine, guests can enjoy a chance to mingle with their fellow stayers and wind down before dinner. If you want a more intimate option, you’re able to order a cocktail service box complete with mixers and recipes. Yes please!

La Peer is situated right in the epicenter of the city’s exclusive Design District, sitting just between the famed Melrose Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard. Chic restaurants and fashionable shops surround the hotel and you feel like you’re right in the middle of everything without being in the busy bustle. Since La Peer is tucked away, you get that secluded feel which makes you feel like you’re in your very own hidden corner of West Hollywood.
Interior
With sculptural walls, sofas and a comfy workspace as soon as you enter the lobby, the hotel oozes Hollywood style. There are 105 guest rooms and suites, a space on the rooftop for events (with an unbelievable view!), a pool and outdoor dining area, all beautifully decorated and exuding luxury. Combining all things art, architecture and style, La Peer is design-focused but manages to maintain a homely feeling. The rooms are all shades of grey and white, feeling minimalist and clean but also bright and warm with bronze and wood touches.
Welcoming Atmosphere
It makes a world of difference when everyone you speak to is friendly and welcoming. The vibe is very much, “if you need anything, just ask.” That homely feel we talked about? It was made even more prominent by the staff at La Peer – they make your stay extra special with thoughtful gestures like leaving personalised notes and small bottles of lavender oil by your bed. Furry Friends Are Welcome
As long as he/she fits through the door, they’re in. As with all Kimpton properties, pets are allowed in the uniquely “pet-friendly with no restrictions” hotel. So, you never have to worry about leaving your buddy behind or stressing about finding a dog sitter. Pets are treated like any other guest and even greeted by name upon arrival. This is one place that truly understands animal obsessions.
La Peer Cares About The Environment
La Peer is doing their part to reduce their environmental impact and that means a lot. The hotel boasts numerous ways that they are environmentally conscious. Car charging stations, low-volume flush toilets that save thousands of gallons of water per year, and a full building recycling program that diverts waste away from landfills. The hotel offers bike tours and custom PUBLIC bikes to borrow for a ride around town.
