Seven Spring Skincare Products We’re Loving Right Now

by Catherine Nicholls

Our skin is amazing – it protects the rest of our body from the outside world, and in turn, we need to protect it! We’ve hunted down the Taylor Team’s go-to skincare products for spring, and have broken them down, figuring out just what we love about them before passing them on to you!

We genuinely love all of these items and just so you know, we may collect a small portion of profit if you make a purchase through the links on this page – but it won’t affect you at all!

Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser

What it is:

A cleanser “balanced, creamy gel formula is made with a blend of five skin conditioners so your face is left feeling healthy and soft, never tight.” Its key ingredients include Rosewater, Comfrey Root Extract, Aquaxyl and Vitamin B5, which all help to provide moisture to skin, preventing dehydration and cleansing blemishes.

Why we love it:

Made with the same cleaning agents found in contact lens solution, the Milky Jelly Cleanser aims to sooth, purify, and nourish, and, boy, does it tick all of those boxes! Our team has a range of skin types, but we all love how it makes our skin feel – clean and purified, but also nourished. It’s a thumbs up from us!

My Clarins Re-Boost Comforting Hydrating Cream

What it is:

A moisturiser for dry skin that “intensely hydrates, re-energises and offers deep nourishment that lasts all day long.” The Re-Boost Comforting Hydrating Cream is made with 95% ingredients of natural origin, featuring fig extract, organic goji berry extract and shea butter. These all help to create a luxuriously thick, moisturising face cream.

Why we love it:

With dry skin, it’s so hard to find a balance between suffocating and nourishing when looking for moisturisers. You don’t want to feel like your skin can’t breathe, but you still want to feel like something’s happening. This product is the perfect middle ground between the two! Putting the Re-Boost Comforting Hydrating Cream genuinely feels opulent. What better way to start your day?

L’Occitane Néroli & Orchidée Hand Cream

What it is:

A “silky cream [that] helps to nourish and protect hands, enveloping them in a tantalising and lovely scent.” I mean, what more could you want from a hand cream?

Why we love it:

Now, hear me out – I dismissed the idea of hand cream, too. I didn’t see the point of getting my hands all oily for minutes at a time only for the end results to be invisible. Enter this game changer – moisturising, non-greasy, and oh-so-gorgeous smelling. I’ll never neglect my hands again, or let the Néroli & Orchidée Hand Cream out of my sight for too long.

The Body Shop Mango Softening Body Butter

What it is:

A hydrating body butter promising to ‘reveal silky-soft, hydrated skin after every use.’ One of its main ingredients is Mangifera Indica Seed Oil, which is made from the fat inside mango seeds to cleanse and condition the skin. Another key ingredient is the oh-so-popular cocoa butter, which slows down water loss from the skin, keeping it hydrated and glowy.

Why we love it:

There are too many reasons to list! The Mango Softening Body Butter does exactly what it claims to do and so much more. Our skin was left feeling nourished and soft, as well as smelling like fruit and vacation, which is exactly what we need to look forward to when the rain is pouring down outside.

Clinique City Block Purifying Charcoal Clay Mask + Scrub

What it is:

A ‘5-minute dual-action detoxifying and exfoliating clay mask’ that ‘purifies and polishes skin for a delightful deep-clean treatment.’ Key ingredients include Kaolin, or pink clay, which absorbs oil and toxins from the skin, Butylene Glycol, which conditions, and Charcoal Powder, which deep cleanses your skin and removes build up from pores.

Why we love it:

Look, we’re based in London, so we know a thing or two about city pollution and what it can do to our skin. Our secret weapon? This baby. After using a couple of times a week, it leaves our pores smaller, and our skin soft and glowing. It exfoliates without leaving the skin dry, and is really just an all-around life saver for us city-slickers.

Milk Makeup Cooling Water Eye Patches

What it is:

‘Cooling under-eye gel patches.’ It is what it says on the tin, really. Made from Glycerin, a key player in the moisturising world, as well as Dipropylene Glycol and Sodium Polyacrylate, cooling agents often used in fake snow, the Cooling Water Eye patches reduce eye puffiness and wake up the skin.

Why we love it:

Where do we start? As self-proclaimed Netflix obsessors, we definitely push it when it comes to sleeping too little every now and then. You can hide your inner tired with a coffee (or three..), but outside? Those bags always give us away. Now, we just grab a set of these from our fridge and chuck them on to relax. Calming and soothing to the nth degree, you won’t know how you lived without them.

Kiehl’s Super Fluid Daily UV Defense SPF 50+

What it is:

A ‘lightweight facial sunscreen with SPF 50+ and pollution protection’. The Vitamin E in the sunscreen reduces UV damage, as well as softening and moisturising the skin. The antioxidant Baicalin helps to calm the skin, as well as shielding it from any environmental radicals, such as pollution, and UVA rays.

Why we love it:

We’ve heard from our mums, doctors and idols alike – sunscreen is so. important. Not only is it incredibly necessary in preventing scary stuff like skin cancer, it also protects you from sunburn, skin discolouration, and premature ageing. The Super Fluid Daily UV Defense 50+ is lightweight and non-greasy, whilst doing its job perfectly.
