The 101 on Numerology

My interest in Numerology was born when I happened to mention to a friend at yoga that I always saw 11.11 on the clock. She knows I am a bit of a geek, so couldn?t believe that I hadn?t heard of the significance behind seeing repeated numbers, or what numbers can tell us about ourselves. Ever since then I?ve been hooked and despite it being a pretty ?woo woo? concept, the accuracy of Numerology readings are enough to convince even the most cynical of critics. There are a lot of different numbers that mean a lot of different things for your life. For example, the 919 angel number means that you will be starting a new chapter in your life. I find it all very interesting but I know that it can be a bit confusing.

What is Numerology?

Essentially, Numerology is the study of numbers to tell us more about our character, purpose, traits, motivations and life path ? a bit like a horoscope but using the numbers in our Date of Birth. While horoscopes typically span across 30 days, Numerology is specific to the exact date you were born, making the descriptions more accurate.

According to Numerologists, each number has a specific vibration. The idea is that your vibration matches that of your number, which can enable deeper enquiry into the self (which we will briefly cover in this article with the life path number). The vibrations in repeated numbers (like 11:11) can help guide us on our path, and specific combinations of numbers can help with decision making.

The Basics:

There are ten numbers used in constructing Numerology charts; 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, and 22. The most basic element of Numerology is your life path or ?ruling? number, which can be determined by adding together the numbers in your DOB, repeatedly, until you get to one of these numbers.

Let?s take a few examples:

28/5/1985: 2+8+5+1+9+8+5 = 38. Then 3 +8 = 11. So this person is a life path 11 (11 and 22 are the only double numbers you don?t add together as they are what?s called Master numbers)

1/3/1982: 1+3+1+9+8+2 = 24. Then 2+4 = 6. So this person is a life path 6.

Below is a very brief overview of the characteristics of each number, but if you Google ?Life Path x? you?ll find hundreds of websites with more detailed overviews, such as numerology.com here – http://www.numerology.com/about-numerology/life-path-number

This Is Only The Beginning:

This article only scratches the surface of what Numerology can tell us. You can also work out the Numerology of your name (each letter corresponds to a number), as well as plotting your Date of Birth into a grid to reveal the ?arrows? of your personality and your areas for development (where there are no numbers). Take a look at this Numerology Name Calculator to get your numerology report.

If you always see a series of repeating numbers, e.g. on your phone, clocks, computer etc, then it?s really easy to Google what that could mean for you. Just simply type ?Significance of seeing xxx?.
